Obituary for Nancy Geerts
NANCY GEERTS, 73, of Mercy Living Center North, Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Center. Nancy was born August 25, 1939, in Moline, IL, to Ned R. and Mary Louise (Rister) Spencer. She was educated in the Argo Fay Grade School and was a 1957 graduate of Thomson High School in Thomson, IL. Nancy married Larry Lee Geerts on August 11, 1957, in Chadwick, IL. He died February 24, 2012. She was employed by the former Clinton Corn Processing Company and most recently Agri-King, Inc. in Fulton, IL. Nancy was a member of First Lutheran Church in Chadwick, IL, and later the Thomson United Methodist in Thomson, IL. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, puzzles, and gambling at the casinos. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and "granddogs". Survivors include two daughters, Lauri (Jerry) Biederman of Thomson, IL and Lisa (Paul) Mitchell of Geneseo, IL; one son, Greg (Sue) Geerts of Clinton, IA; eight grandchildren, Melissa Biederman, Kendra Biederman, and Scott Biederman, Damon Mitchell, Derek Mitchell, Sarah (Tom) Schwarz, Erica Geerts, and Nicole Geerts; seven great-grandchildren, Jasmine Wilson, Kesi-Ann Wagner, Ariah Endersbe, Keagan Fox, Maren Schwarz, Cael Schwarz, and Elena Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; one sister, Susan Handel and one brother, Bill Spencer.
