Obituary for Neil T. Patterson
NEIL T. PATTERSON, 83, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Neil was born June 27, 1931, in Madison, IN, to Meinard J. and Helen E. (Roark) Patterson. He was a graduate of New Bern High School in New Bern, NC. On May 11, 1952 he married Joan Davis in Morrison. She died October 29, 1995. Neil was employed as a Plasterers and Cement Masons Union Local - #011 Northern Illinois. After retirement he worked as a self-employed cement mason. He was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF). He was also a Morrison Little League Coach for many years. Neil enjoyed harness racing and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Survivors include two daughters, Cary (Roger) Wiebenga of Hampshire, IL; Laurie (Corey) Adelman of Rockford, IL; two sons, Brian (Joan) Patterson of Morrison; Daryl Patterson of Morrison; six grandchildren, Rebecca Wiebenga, Elisha and Matthew Adelman, Jeramie Patterson, Monica (Ben) Carpenter, Jennifer Stage; five great grandchildren, Xander Otake, Kayla and Luke Carpenter, Zoey Patterson, Paisley Damon; three sisters, Elaine (Wesley) Fuller of Bradenton, FL, Carol Smith of Linwood, NJ, and Judy (Bill) Cahall of Dover, DE. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; two grandchildren; one brother, Roark Patterson.
