Obituary for Patricia J. Prestley
PATRICIA J. “PAT” PRESTLEY, 83, of Clinton, IA, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, January 9, 2021, at her daughter’s home.
A public graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison with MercyOne Medical Center Chaplin Michael Brewer officiating. A private family visitation will be held at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral home. A memorial has been established to Shriners Hospitals for Children. The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Pat was born August 25, 1937, in Clinton, IA, to Orsen and Myrel (Tadsen) Howard. She was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School. Pat married James “Jim” R. Prestley on August 28, 1957, in Clinton, IA. He died November 16, 2011. Pat worked for Morrison True Value until retiring in 1998. She volunteered with the Brownies and Girl Scouts for many years and helped out with the Cub Scouts. Pat enjoyed spending her winters in Arizona with her husband. She cherished spending time and having coffee and lunches, with her friends. Pat loved being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice (Roy) Thompson of Fulton, IL; one son, James (Cindy) Prestley of Dubuque, IA; two grandchildren, Matthew (Jenny) Thompson and Lindsay Thompson; three great grandsons, Tayden, Keller, and Kye Thompson; two sisters, Laurie (George) Vulich of Clinton, IA; and Sandy Martin of Camanche, IA; a sister-in-law, Karen (Bob) Endress of Morrison, IL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; one sister, Janice Howard; and one brother, Bob Howard.
