Obituary for Patrick M. Sheridan
PATRICK MICHAEL "PAT" SHERIDAN, 68, of Clinton, IA, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at his home. Pat was born February 13, 1946, in Clinton, IA, to Dominic "Dom" and Eileen (Green) Sheridan. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. He attended Clinton Community College in Clinton, and was a graduate of the National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo, OH. Pat was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He also served as jazz trumpet instructor for the 424th Army Band, El Paso, TX. He married Pamela Lois Gritten on June 12, 1976 in Fulton. Pat was first employed as a skilled certified meat cutter by the former Bud"s IGA Grocery Store in Fulton. Later he was hired by Chemplex Company in Clinton, and worked the first day of production at the plant. He retired July of 2002 from Lyondell Baisel Company after 35 years. Pat was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton, the American Legion Fulton Post #402 and the Fulton Country Club. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was an inspiration to those he supported. Survivors include his wife, Pam; two daughters, Patricia (Maura Conway) Sheridan of Oak Park, IL and Erin Sheridan of Davenport, IA; one son, Christopher Sheridan of Camanche, IA; two grandchildren, Makai and Lucas Conway; three sisters, Mary Clare (Leonard) Novotny of Western Springs, IL, Kathi (Dave) Harrison of Morrison, IL and Eileen (Jim) Runge of Clinton, IA; one brother, William (Linda) Sheridan of Lansing, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin son and daughter; one brother, in infancy.
