Obituary for Ralph E. "Moe" Campbell, Jr.
RALPH E. “MOE” CAMPBELL, JR., 94, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, January 19, 2023 at his home.
There will be no visitation; private services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Morrison Seahorse Swim Club.
Ralph was born October 31, 1928 in Portland, ME, to Ralph E. Campbell, Sr., and Kathleen (Cotter) Campbell. Ralph graduated from Yale University in 1948. On August 9, 1952 he married Patricia Ann Tierney in Pittsfield, MA. She died December 5, 2018. Ralph was employed by General Electric in Pittsfield, MA, he then relocated with GE to Morrison in 1959 and worked there for 47 years, until retirement. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Morrison. Ralph enjoyed a good round of golf, and was an avid fisherman. After retirement he could be found almost daily, fishing at Lake Carlton in the Rockwood State Park. He was active in barbershop quartet singing, and also with the Morrison Seahorse Swim Club, as an official with U.S. Swimming.
Survivors include one daughter, Jodi (Kirby) Dalton of Dallas, TX; five sons, Jack (Lisa) Campbell of Stillwater, MN, Jim (Andrea) Campbell of Stanford, CA, Chris Campbell of Sunnyvale, CA, Andy (Breina) Campbell of Dundee, IL and Tony (Jib) Campbell of Bangkok, Thailand; eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pat; three siblings, Catherine Campbell, Marie (Tom) Lambert, and Robert Campbell.
