Obituary for Raymond Warren Renkes
RAYMOND WARREN RENKES, 60, of Lyndon, IL died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at VA Medical Center, Iowa City, IA. Ray was born July 2, 1952 in Morrison, IL, to Warren Robert and Meredith (Domdey) Renkes. He was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a 1971 graduate of Morrison High School. He married Susan Bryan in 1972 in Morrison, IL. He was first employed for the Burlington Northern Railroad, he was then drafted into the Army. Ray served in Germany as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army. Upon his return, he began working with his father, Warren, doing flooring work for the Renkes Paint Store. Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, following the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and the University of Illinois " Fighting Illini. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Rebel. Survivors include his mother, Meredith of Morrison, IL; two daughters, Jenny (Marty) Edgeton and Jackie (Matt) Tichler both of Morrison, IL; one son, Ryan Renkes of Morrison, IL; three grandchildren, Laney Edgeton, Lexi and Adam Tichler; one sister, Rhonda (Richard) Tracy of Dubuque, IA; two brothers, Rolland R. (Janet) Renkes of Morrison, IL and Richard D. (Sally) Renkes of Prophetstown, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Renkes and one son, Bryan Renkes.
