Obituary for Robert Vigen
Robert Vigen, age 89, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at Regency Care in Sterling, IL.Robert was born November 12th, 1927 in Willmar MN., to Hjalmer and Esther (Johnson) Vigen. After serving in the Navy during WW II he was employed at General Electric Co. in Morrison, starting in 1949 and working there until he retired 39 years later. He married Minnie Joe MJ Hodge on August 3rd, 1957 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison. She died on June 1, 2011. Robert continued to be a member of the Bethesda congregation throughout his adult life. After retirement he spent the winters in Florida with his wife enjoying the golf that he played for many so years.He is survived by his son Steven of Morrison. His parents, brother Howard, and wife MJ preceded him in death.
CREMATION RITES HAVE BEEN ACCORDED FUNERAL: No funeral service or visitation is scheduled. There will be a Celebration of Life held next summer, when all the Snowbirds return home.
