Obituary for Robert W. Tiesman
Robert “Bob” W. Tiesman, 85, of Morrison, IL, died on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport, IA.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life Luncheon following the visitation at 1:00 PM, at the Sterling Moose Lodge, 2601 E. Lincolnway, Sterling, IL 61081. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. A memorial has been established.
Bob was born March 27, 1937, in Dixon, IL, to Claus and Hilda (Haan) Tiesman. He was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. He married Dorothy Swanson on July 18, 1980, in Morrison. She died September 27, 2018. He was employed at General Electric in Morrison. He was an avid golfer. Bob, along with his wife, enjoyed camping and spending time with their grandchildren, great grandchildren and their beloved dogs.
Survivors include one daughter, Dawn Stage of Fulton, IL; one son, Tom (Debbie) Tiesman of Sterling, IL; one stepdaughter, Angie (Ron) Kuykendall of Erie, IL; one stepson, Barry (Jane) Houzenga of Morrison, IL; seventeen grandchildren; one great-great grandson, Axel Miller; one sister, Gertrude Buikema of Morrison, IL; three brothers, Kenny Tiesman of AZ, Ron Tiesman of Sterling, IL and Harlan (Diana) Tiesman of Chicago, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; one grandson in infancy, Thomas Tiesman; one son-in-law, Ray Stage; one sister, Jeanette Hook; four brothers, Harold, John, Tom and Claus Tiesman.
