Obituary for Sally Jo Houzenga
SALLY J. HOUZENGA, 69, of Savanna, IL, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton with Rev. Jake Ritzema, associate pastor of Outreach at Bethel Christian Reformed Church officiating. The visitation will precede the service starting at 1:00 PM until the start of the funeral. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to Big Meadows Nursing Home.
Sally was born October 27, 1954, in Clinton, IA, to Donald E. and Dorothy L. (Van Vuren) Houzenga. She was educated in the Unity Christian Grade Schools and was a 1973 graduate of Fulton High School. She was employed at Fulton Corp in Fulton, for 9 years. She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. She loved watching TV, playing the Wii, engaging in Bible study, working on puzzles and doing computer tasks. One of her greatest joys was the fellowship she found in family and friends at gatherings.
Survivors include two brothers, Keith (Vicki) Houzenga and Dale (Toni) Houzenga both of Fulton, IL; three nieces and nephews, Brian (Dayell) Houzenga, Stacy (Mike) Palmer-Knautz, Jason Houzenga; one step-nephew, Jeremy (Michele) Benoit.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Brenda Kay Houzenga
