SANDRA DORATHY, 77, of Oregon, IL, formerly of Lyndon, IL, died Sunday March 2, 2025 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation. A private family memorial service will be held with Ken Renkes officiating. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. A memorial to Serentiy Hospice and Home has been established.
Sandy was born October 18, 1947, in Morrison, IL, to Budd and Darlene (DeVries) Swanson. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and attended Lyndon High School. On November 20, 1971 she married William B. Dorathy in Lyndon. Sandy was employed at General Electric in Morrison, retiring in 1998. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; two sons, Steve (Debra) Hartman of New Windsor, NY and Kevin (Marcia) Hartman of Mulvane, KS; a step-daughter, Gina (Keith) Lane of Howell, MI; two grandchildren, Alex (Hannah) Hartman and Brett Hartman; step-grandchildren, Kyle Hudson and Cameron Hudson; four sisters, Darla Evans of Moline, IL, Julie (Richard) Harden of Dixon, IL, Jill (John Bayard) Swanson of Middletown, NJ, and Becky (Kirk) Main of Pasadena, MD; one brother, John (Sonja) Swanson of Davis Junction, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one step-granddaughter, Amber Shearer; one sister, Sherry Bielema.
