Obituary for Shirley A. Holesinger
SHIRLEY A. HOLESINGER, 91, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, March 24, 2018, at her home.
The funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton with Rev. Kevin VerHoeven officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery. Memorials have been established to Unity Christian School and Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
Shirley was born November 26, 1926, in Fulton, IL to Mathew A. and Gertrude N. (Norman) Wessels. She was educated in the Fulton Christian School. Shirley married Robert J. Holesinger on January 15, 1947, in Fulton, IL. He died February 6, 2005. Shirley was a charter member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church and the church’s Mary and Martha Society. She enjoyed quilting, golfing, jigsaw puzzles, reading, traveling, and spending time with family. She always considered her home as open to welcome visits from family and friends.
Survivors include four sons, Dan (Betty) Holesinger, Russ (Jan) Holesinger, and Keith (Eileen) Holesinger all of Fulton, IL; Clark (Bev) Holesinger of Valparaiso, IN; eleven grandchildren, Kendra Prillwitz, Doug (Mindy) Holesinger, David (Emily) Holesinger, Sara (Brad) Houzenga, Eric (Bronwyn) Holesinger, Nathan (Brenda) Holesinger, Krista (Matt) Van Engen, Amanda (Steve) Hedges, Nicole (Tyson) Daake, Natasha (Francisco) Holesinger-Lopez, and Kendal Holesinger; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kathe (Jack) Burns of Fenton, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; one grandson-in-law, Scott Prillwitz; two sisters, Gladys Miller and Maxine Hess; three brothers, Norman, Dale and James Wessels.
