Obituary for Shirley Ann Mills
SHIRLEY A. MILLS, 81, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Homestead of Morrison.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00AM Friday, July 14, 2023 at the First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, officiated by Rev. Dr. James Camp. A visitation will be held the same day prior to the service, starting at 9:30AM. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. A memorial to the Alzheimer’s Association has been established.
Shirley was born August 2, 1941, in Clinton, IA, to August and Rosa (Peters) Christiansen. She attended the Miles, IA grade schools and was a graduate of Miles High School. After High School Shirley furthered her education and received an Associate’s Degree from Mount St. Clare College in Clinton. On December 15, 1963 she married Kenneth R. Mills in Miles, IA. Shirley worked for Prudential Insurance in Clinton, and later was employed by Smith Trust and Savings/ Marquette Bank in Morrison for 26 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, and was a former member of the First Presbyterian Churches in both Miles and Clinton, IA. Shirley enjoyed spending her free time reading and shopping.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Lori (Mike) Lee of Prophetstown, IL and Kimberly (Rick) Martin of Storm Lake, IA; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carol Christiansen of Miles, IA.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kara Lee Mills; one son, Kurt Mills; one brother, Delbert Christiansen.
