Obituary for Susan S. Cobb
SUSAN S. COBB, 87, of Fremont, NE, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Fremont Health.Susan was born July 27, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to John and Susan (Birley) Sykes. She attended school in Morrison, IL and graduated from Morrison High School. She went on to attend Western Illinois College, where she earned a teaching certificate. Susan married the love of her life, Clayton Cobb on June 7, 1952, in Morrison, IL.The service led them to Baltimore, MD for several years before moving to Monmouth, IL for a short stay, and finally to Fremont, where theyve resided since. Born to this marriage were three children, Tom, Jill and Steve. Susan enjoyed sewing, gardening, puzzles of all kinds, golfing, bowling and most of all, she loved her family. She loved being a mom, chasing kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She will be sorely missed. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the church circle and Preceptor Lambda Sorority.She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clayton; daughter, Jill (David) Arthur of Fremont; son, Steve (Rhonda) Cobb of Fremont; six grandchildren Elizabeth, Billy (Stephanie), Chris (Teija), Garrett, Peyton, Hannah; three great grandchildren, Katelyn, Jake, Tommy; three sisters, Vivian (Milford) Place, Bonnie (Ted) Kuhnen and Donna (Leon) Vankampen; sister-in-law, Corliss Kerr; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.She was preceded in death by her son, Tom; her parents; five brothers, Ike, Bob, Kenny, Bill, and Dick; a sister, Lela.
