Obituary for Una M. Vos
UNA M. VOS, 98, of the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton, IA; formerly of Fulton, IL, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Alverno. Una was born May 15, 1916, in Fenton Township, Whiteside County, IL, to Dietrick "Dick" and Henrietta (Wiersema) Borgman. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. She married Marion A. Vos on June 26, 1941 in Fulton, IL. He died September 4, 1994. Prior to her marriage, Una was employed by the former Clinton Garment Factory in Clinton. She also worked at the former B&B Gift Shop in Fulton. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, and belonged to the church"s Dorcas and Rebecca Societies and the Ladies Bible Study Group. She was also a member of the Harbor Crest Nursing Home Auxiliary and the Unity Christian School Ladies Auxiliary and Friendship Circle. Una was a charter member of the Fulton Country Club. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Roger) Luchies of Fulton, IL and Mary Ann (Dave) Schaver of Fenton, IL; one son, Don A. (Gayle) Vos of Grand Rapids, MI; eight grandchildren, Joni (Jamie) Temple, Tara (Steve) Bosch, Todd (Kinza) Luchies, Kim (Jeremy) Bolker, Kelly (Shane) Sikkema, Tim (Katie) Vos, Amy (Jon) Fortuna, and Nathan (Stephanie) Vos; twenty great-grandchildren, Ashton, Madison, and Caden Temple; Andrew, Peter, Emilyn and Simon Bosch; Isaac, Ethan, Eva, and Abby Luchies; Henry and Harvey Bolker; Owen Sikkema; Romy and Clio Vos; Jordan Fortuna; Lauren, Claire, and Carson Vos; one brother, Jean Borgman of Fulton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion; one grandson, Mark Vos, in infancy; two sisters, Marjorie Vogel and Esther Wiersema; two brothers, Milton Barsema and Louis Borgman.
