VANCE HOUZENGA, 53, of Sterling, IL, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Willows Assisted Living in Sterling.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, officiated by Penny Starr, lay pastor. There will be no visitation, and cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established to Self Help, Inc.
Vance was born November 4, 1970, in Morrison, IL, to Robert L. and Lorna K. (Massey) Houzenga. He was educated in Bi-County Schools in Whiteside County. He was Employed at Self Help, Inc in Sterling, IL. Vance was an avid music lover, particularly playing the guitar, which brought him joy throughout his life.
Survivors include one brother; Barry (Jane) Houzenga of Morrison, IL; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; his Willows family and caregivers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Lorna K. Houzenga; maternal and paternal grandparents; some uncles.
