Obituary for Virginia F. Kimmer
VIRGINIA F. “GINNY” KIMMER, 84, of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Resthave Home in Morrison, IL.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 20, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Noah Panlilio, pastor of Morrison United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, September 19, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton, IA. A memorial to the Alzheimer’s Association has been established.
Ginny was born July 4, 1935, in Caraway, AR, to Charles Lee and Glada (Craig) Bowen. She was educated in the Pitts Grade School in Cash, AR and was a graduate of Cash High School. She was first married to Ronald F. Milnes on February 4, 1955, in Morrison. She later married James E. Kimmer on November 7, 1981, in Clinton, IA. He died April 24, 2002. Ginny was employed by General Electric in Morrison, retiring in 1995. Following retirement, she worked at Guzzardo’s Hallmark Store and was a hostess at the Wild Rose Casino both in Clinton, IA. Ginny was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church and the GEM Club. She served as a board member for Advantage One Credit Union in Morrison and as a Cub Scout den mother. She also served on the Landlord Association in Clinton, IA. Ginny enjoyed gardening and following her children’s and grandchildren’s school and sports events.
Survivors include one daughter, Debra (Rich) Dunaway of Morrison, IL; two sons, Rick Milnes of Fulton, IL and Dan (Kathy) Milnes of Morrison, IL; three step sons, Shannon Kimmer, Allan (Sara) Kimmer, and Rowdy Kimmer all of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren, Jodie (Wess) Gaffey, Breanna Milnes, Danielle (Joe) Mills, Allyson (fiancé Quinton Stage) Milnes, Zachary J. Dunaway, and Justin Stolk; six great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Alyssa, and Alyvia Gaffey; Ivy and Drake Mills; and Jaycee Dunaway; one brother, Roy Bell of Lafayette, LA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; one sister, Alpha Roberts; and three brothers, Stanley Bowen, Sam Bell, and Jerry Bell.
