Obituary for Warren J. Cant
WARREN J. CANT, 93, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the University of IA Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Warren was born October 13, 1922, in Erie, IL, to William "Doc" and Rena (Thompson) Cant. He was educated in the Erie grade schools and was a graduate of Erie High School. Warren then attended Eureka College in Eureka, IL. He married Phyllis A. Schaver on June 25, 1949 in Erie. He was employed at International Harvester in East Moline, IL. Warren was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church in Morrison, IL. He was also a member of the Erie Masonic Lodge #667 and president of the IL Branch of the American Motel Association. Survivors include one step-son, Don R. (Susan) Ellinwood of Monmouth, OR; two grandchildren, April and Jason Ellinwood; two nieces, Rena VanDeGejuchte and Linda Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, on September 3, 1993; one brother, Wilmer Cant; one granddaughter, Ann Theresa Ellinwood.
