Obituary for Wayne E. "Whitey" Tenboer
WAYNE E. “WHITEY” TENBOER, 70, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, December 27, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.
The funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 31, 2004 at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison with Rev. Jon W. Nienhuis officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, December 30, 2004, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Memorials have been established to Radio Broadcast Ministry of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and First Reformed Church in Fulton, IL.
Whitey was born May 25, 1934, in Morrison, IL, to Henry and Tena (Vos) Tenboer. He was educated in the Prairie Center Grade School of rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Morrison High School. Whitey served in the U.S. Army. He married Ruth E. Prins on March 5, 1954, in Fulton, IL. He was engaged in farming in the rural Morrison area for 46 years and drove school bus for R.C. Smith Transportation for 42 years. Whitey was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and served as youth group leader. He enjoyed collecting John Deere and school bus memorabilia.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; one daughter, Cynthia (Chris) Zemko of Elgin, IL; three sons, Loren (Connie) Tenboer and Kelvin (Sara) Tenboer both of Morrison, IL and Alan (Sally) Tenboer of Racine, WI; nine grandchildren, Tyler Zemko; Katie and Kerrie Tenboer; Andrew, Kelly, Kayla, and Anthony Tenboer; Kyle and Kayleigh Tenboer; two sisters, Joyce (Arnold) Tiesman of Fulton, IL and Barbara (Irvin) Prins of Morrison, IL; one brother, Kenneth (Vivian) Tenboer of Morrison, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
