Obituary for Wilma J. Hoogheem
WILMA J. HOOGHEEM, 92, of Clinton, IA; formerly of Fulton, IL, died Friday, May 8, 2020 at Prairie Hills of Clinton in Clinton, IA.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A service will be held at a later date. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established.

Wilma was born August 18, 1927, in Garden Plain, IL, to Fred and Anna (Geerts) Fiet. She attended Garden Plain School and graduated from Fulton High School. On August 4, 1948 she married Vincent Hoogheem in Fulton. Wilma worked as a secretary at Fulton High School for 29 years, retiring in 1989. She was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church in Fulton, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, co-sponsored the Girls League, sang in the choir and belonged to the King’s Daughters Society. She also was the church secretary for many years. Outside of the church she enjoyed reading and bicycling, volunteered at the Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary, the Fulton Elementary Library and Friends of the Windmill.

Survivors include her husband, Vincent; one daughter, Gayle (Richard) Farrar of Davenport, IA; one son, David (Pam) Hoogheem of Bettendorf, IA; two grandchildren, Andrew (Kora Smith) Hoogheem, Allison (Matt) Kampmueller; four great grandchildren; Simone and Lucie Hoogheem, Charles and Annalise Kampmueller.

She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Hoogheem; a sister, Frances Rus; three brothers, Everett, Alvin and Allen Fiet.
