Obituary for Ardith R. "Arkie" Zuidema
ARDITH R. “ARKIE” ZUIDEMA, 80, of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Harbor Crest Home in Fulton.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Ken Renkes officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton. A memorial to Harbor Crest Home has been established.
Ardith was born July 28, 1939, in Clinton, IA, to Jacob H. and Gertrude (Hoogheem) Norman. She was educated in the Fulton grade schools and attended Fulton High School. Ardith married Robert E. Zuidema Sr. on December 8, 1956, in Fulton. He died April 27, 2018. Arkie worked as a home care provider for many years. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca (Shane Stoecker) Chadwick and Leota (Scott) Schipper both of Fulton; two sons, Bob (Julie) Zuidema of Morrison, IL and Jake (Debbie) Zuidema of Savannah, MO; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Norman of Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; one son in infancy; five sisters, Lois Bush, LaVonne Dykema, Eunice Leibert, Leota Norman, and Mary Ann Temple; and one brother, Gerald “Jocko” Norman.
