Obituary for Gladys L. Van Dyke
GLADYS L. VAN DYKE, 94, of The Alverno Health Care Facility, died Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at The Alverno.
The will be no visitation or funeral service. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery.
Gladys was born September 23, 1925, in Fulton, IL, to Joe J. and Jane (Borgman) Shipma. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and attended Fulton High School. On October 15, 1948 she married Harold E. Van Dyke in Fulton. He died August 7, 2013. Gladys and her husband owned and operated Van Dyke Trucking in Fulton for 25 years. She enjoyed going to craft shows.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda, and Deb (Ted) Van Dyke-Mann of Milan, IL; four grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; one son-in-law, Rodney Smith; five sisters, Helen Hine, Shirley Wiersema, Beverly Houzenga, Evelyn Gendvilas and Gertrude Housenga; one brother, John Shipma.
