Obituary for Doris Marie Wiersema
DORIS MARIE WIERSEMA, 80, of 201 Whispering Pines, Clinton, IA, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. Doris was born September 22, 1932, in Whiteside County, IL, to Glen and Helen Reins Hadaway. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and attended Milledgeville High School in Milledgeville, IL. She married Donald Jay Wiersema on January 5, 1951 in Sterling, IL. He died October 30, 1996. Doris was a homemaker. After traveling with her husband in the armed forces, she worked alongside him at Don"s Greenhouse, located in Fulton, IL. She was an avid Fox News follower and enjoyed reading books, especially about politics. She cherished time spent with her family. Survivors include three daughters, Donna Kay (Richard) Puffer of Tempe, AZ, Darlene (Jim) Tucker of Albany, IL and Dayna (Terry) Turner of Clinton, IA; one son, Dennis J. Wiersema of Tempe, AZ; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Gerdes of Dixon, IL; three brothers, Glen (Karen) Hadaway of Mount Morris, IL, Sherman (Carol) Hadaway of Prophetstown, IL and Terry (Judy) Hadaway of Rock Falls, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; one brother, Jerry Hadaway.
