Obituary for Allen R. Wilson
ALLEN R. WILSON, 93, of Erie, IL, died Wednesday January 16, 2019 at Genesis Medical Center Silvis, IL Campus.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be private family services with burial at the Minta Cemetery in rural Fulton, IL. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established by the family.
Allen was born April 19, 1925 in Clinton, IA, to Bert C. and Ada May (Sharer) Wilson. He was educated in the Cottle Grade School in rural Whiteside County, IL and graduated from Erie High School in 1943. He married Mary E. Drury on November 20, 1948 in Garden Plain, IL. Allen farmed in rural Erie and he helped develop and build the Surge Pipe Line Milking system in the United States. He raced harness horses at the pari-mutuel tracks.
Survivors include his wife Mary; two daughters, Sheri (Loren) Coate of Erie, IL and Kristine (Steve) Koser of North Liberty, IA; one son, Dr. Gary (Jan) Wilson of Lutz, FL; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Dail, and one in infancy; also one brother in infancy.
