Obituary for Becky J. Workman
BECKY J. WORKMAN, 56, of Des Plaines, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL. Becky was born August 25, 1956, in Moline, IL, to Ben B. and Arlene R. (McKinzie) Buckman. She was educated in the Albany Grade School in Albany, IL, and attended Fulton High School in Fulton, IL, and Scott Community College in Bettendorf, IA. She married Lauren L. Workman on July 5, 1975 in Morrison, IL. He died January 1, 1993. Becky was first employed as a nurse"s aide at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison, IL. She then worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Elwyn Nice Trucking in Morrison, and most recently worked as a cook in various food service settings. Survivors include three daughters, Starlet (Jeff) Doden of Lehigh Acres, FL; Roxanne (Jason) Groenewold of Morrison, IL; and Crystal (Keith) Burnwold of North Carolina; three sons, Joshua Workman and fianc"e Kristina Linz of Davenport, IA; Curt Workman of Morrison, IL; and John (Kimberly) Workman of Morrison, IL; sixteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Waters of Des Plaines, IL; Jingles Karuga of LaFarge, WI; and Beverly Vanderleest of Craig, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lauren; one grandson, Jonathan Workman; and one sister, Merri Jill Sikkema.
