Obituary for Diane K. Ottens
DIANE K. OTTENS, 61, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, July 27, 2019, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 2, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Laura Wessels officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL. A memorial has been established to Genesis Hospice.
Diane was born August 19, 1957, in Clinton, IA, to Jay E. and Alberta A. (Klooster) Brondyke. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a 1975 graduate of Fulton High School. She attended Central College in Pella, IA. Diane married Larry Ottens on July 31, 1982, in Fulton. She worked at Fulton State Bank and later was employed at the Fulton Elementary School as a paraprofessional for 18 years. Diane loved her job and working with children. She was a member of Second Reformed Church and enjoyed volunteering with Vacation Bible School and doing children’s sermons. Diane loved traveling throughout the United States and visiting new places. She loved holidays and hosting family. She knew how to make every event special and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; one daughter, Jacqueline (Daniel) Chapeck of St. Charles, IL; two grandchildren, Madelyn and Thomas Chapeck; her mother, Alberta Brondyke; one sister, Debra (Steven) Wheat of Fulton, IL; and one brother, Duglas (Christina) Brondyke of Clinton, IA.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jay E. Brondyke.
