Obituary for Juanita S. Roman
JUANITA S. ROMAN, 70, of Prophetstown, IL, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at her home. Juanita was born October 17, 1941, in Prophetstown, IL, to Forrest K. and Susie W. (Church) Sutton. She was educated in the Prophetstown grade schools and graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1959. She then graduated from Sterling School of Beauty in Sterling, IL, with a degree in cosmetology. She married Robert J. Roman on June 6, 1959 in Prophetstown. Juanita was a homemaker and she owned and operated her own salon for many years. She a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and participated in United Methodist Women. She was an avid doll collector, and also enjoyed painting and drawing. Her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Robert; three daughters, Deb Roman of Prophetstown, Kimber (Brian) Smith of Prophetstown and Robin (Sean) Hicks of Pewaukee, WI; one son, Kent (Penny) Roman of Prophetstown; ten grandchildren, Tony (Caroline) Oncken, Amy (fianc" Zach Cameron) Oncken, Terry (Wendy) Roman, Shana (Joe) Meland, Nick (Keirra) Crocker, Jaimee (David) Wolf, Rebekah Smith, Evan Hicks, Jena Hicks, Cole Hicks; thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert L and Jesse K. Sutton; one nephew David K. Sutton.
