Obituary for Novella J. Van Zuiden
NOVELLA J. "VEL" VAN ZUIDEN, 63, of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, November 30, 2014, at her home. Novella was born September 15, 1951, in Clinton, IA, to Marvin and Lucille (McPeak) Clausen. She graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, IA in 1969. Vel was employed by Mercy Hospital in Clinton for 30 years. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Clinton and was active with Friends for Charity in Fulton, IL. Vel enjoyed fishing and volunteer work. She was a helpful and kind person to everyone. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Survivors include her husband, Burton; one daughter, Jacqueline Van Zuiden of Fulton, IL; two sons, Joshua (Courtney) Van Zuiden of Kokomo, IN and Justin Van Zuiden of Fulton, IL; one granddaughter, Scarlett Van Zuiden; two sisters, Lavonne (Glenn) McCulloh of DeWitt, IA and Linda Richer of Columbia, KY; one brother, Robert (Bernedette) Clausen of Russell Springs, KY; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rosemary Gerk; two brothers, DeWayne and Charles Clausen.
