Obituary for Reva P. Armstrong
REVA P. ARMSTRONG, 90, of Harbor Crest Home, Fulton, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Harbor Crest. Reva was born May 2, 1925, in Morrison, IL, to Edwin D. and Mary (Engelkens) Glazier. She was educated in the Bunker Hill grade school of rural Whiteside County and was a 1944 graduate of Morrison High School. Reva married Raymond W. Armstrong on August 4, 1944, in Fenton, IL. He died February 24, 2004. Reva was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the Fenton area for 60 years. She was a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and as a part of various church committees. She was a member of the Whiteside County Home Extension and the Red Hat Society. Reva enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Schroeder of Fulton, IL; two sons, Dale (Carol) Armstrong of Winnebago, IL and Mark (Beth) Armstrong of Erie, IL; eight grandchildren, Susan Zuidema, Scott Zuidema, Craig Zuidema, Jonathan (Christia) Armstrong, David (Julia) Armstrong, Katie Armstrong, Joseph (Ashley) Armstrong, and Matthew Armstrong; one grandson-in-law, Greg Banks; fourteen great-grandchildren, Jessica Zuidema, Laura (John) Husar, Steven Schmidt, Anthony Zuidema, Ethan Melcher, Olivia Melcher, Zoey Banks, Logan Banks, Charlie Thies, Eve Armstrong, Oliver Armstrong, Elliott Jo Ruby Armstrong, Marshall Armstrong, and Jack Armstrong; two great-great-grandchildren, Jase and Isabelle; two sisters, Marjorie (Roger) Rhoads of Fenton, IL and Lillian Unger of Morrison, IL; one brother, George (Ramona) Glazier of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; one granddaughter, Jennifer Banks; two sisters, Hazel "Marie" Conner and Catherine "Irene" Bush.
