Obituary for Robert "Bob" M. Jackson

ROBERT “BOB” M. JACKSON, 88, of Clinton, IA, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton, IA.


A private family memorial service will be held at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Hooker, pastor of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, IL, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established.


Bob was born August 14, 1934, in Sterling, IL, to Jewel and “Bernice” (Powers) Jackson. He was educated in the Buda Grade Schools and was a graduate of Buda High School. He later attended Barber College in Peoria, IL. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bob married Joan Renner on February 12, 1971 in Morrison, IL. He owned and operated the Barbershop in Prophetstown, IL and also worked for General Electric as a supervisor. He then worked for ADM and retired from there in 1997.


Survivors include his wife, Joan; one daughter, Felicia (Richard) Toppert; one son, Anthony (Kim) Jackson; two stepdaughters, Carman (Jim) Funderburgh and Cindy (Steve) Whiting; seven grandchildren, Donovan (Amie) Toppert, Drew Jackson, Chad (Cathy) Jackson, Brandy (Chad) Stephenson, Stacy (Joe) Stephenson, Steve (Samantha) Whiting, Jr. and Brian (Victoria) Whiting; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Andrew Jackson; one granddaughter, Angela McGinty; one sister, Marilyn Morissey; two brothers, Noel and Paul Jackson.
